Teaching:

Teaching is a special gift God gives to certain members of the body of Christ to wholly communicate and model Christian truths of doctrine and practice so that believers effectively grow in the grace and knowledge of Jesus Christ, their discipleship life in the church and their activities in the ministry of the priesthood of all believers.

Opportunities for Service:

Sunday School Ministry (Kidz Alive)

 Do you like to see others grow in Christ? Serving in our Sunday School ministry from September through May offers this opportunity. We at Holy Cross are very open to the power of team teaching in a classroom and sharing the responsibility of the class. Our Sunday School classes, age 3 through grade 6, are held in our Holy Cross Facility. The term of service is one school year, September-May.

Vacation Bible School

 Our teachers in VBS use the "learning center" model. We want VBS to be different from Sunday School and elementary school. We desire to have a VBS that is highly meaningful and a joy for all our teachers and students. A team of teachers are responsible for a "learning center" for the entire week. Teachers will use costume, story telling, objects and hands-on activities for their lesson. Term of service is the summer months. Our VBS week is the first full week of August.

Sunday Morning Adult Bible Study

 Do you like to see others grow in Christ? Our Pastor offers a forum called “Talking Points” in our entry way each Sunday morning.

In addition, teaching a Sunday morning adult Bible study may be your calling. A class for a specific period of time would be considered.

Small Group

Teaching a Bible Study in a Small Group is being sensitive to facilitating the group in the discussion of the Biblical material. Small Group leaders frequently facilitate the study and they are to be training an apprentice in that skill also. We encourage our Small Group teachers first join a small group, and then accept the opportunity to be an apprentice for that group.
