Music:

Music is a special gift God gives to certain members of the body of Christ to sing, play and compose music in such a way that it will bless the Lord and will also be beneficial and edifying for the Church.

Opportunities for Service:

Children's Music:

 Children, like adults, bless the heart of God and grow in their relationship to Him through praising Him. Opportunities to serve include:

●          Sunday School -- leading the Sunday School children during the Sunday School hour, teaching songs, helping the children grow in their worship of God, and leading the children to periodically off music for Sunday morning worship.

●          Special Events -- working with children to offer music for special events.

●          Vacation Bible School -- working with a team to lead times of worship in large and small groups using music that reinforces daily themes, teaching powerful truths of the Bible through music.

Instrumentalists:

 It is exciting and powerful to worship God with instruments. It's no wonder Psalm 150 says, "Praise him with the sounding of the trumpet, praise him with the harp and lyre, praise him with tambourine and dancing, praise him with the strings and flute, praise him with the clash of cymbals, praise him with resounding cymbals"! Opportunities for instrumentalists to offer their music in worship include playing with the worship teams or playing in an orchestra/band when offered or offering solo or ensemble background music for special events.

PraiseHym:

 PraiseHym worship teams include vocalists adult and youth and instrumentalists who use their music and spiritual gifts for leading God's people in our corporate worship, and in NightLife Youth worship, to make God's praise glorious. Ps. 66:2

Sounds for Christ:

 The Holy Spirit gives understanding to our hearts, but the sound technicians makes sure that the spoken and sung Word is clearly heard by all so that God can do His mighty work. The Sound Techs/Engineers set up the music area in the sanctuary, rehearse with the musical groups and mix sound during worship and special events.

Special Worship Offerings:

 Every worship service is special in that we give our all in worship and service of God, but Special Worship Offerings and Outreach Events at Holy Cross are unique opportunities for individuals to use a variety of gifts in Helping People Know, Live and Share the Love of Christ. An example of a Special Worship Offering is The Heart of Christmas for which all ages join together to present the Good News of Jesus' birth through music (instrumental and/or vocal, adult, youth and children), drama (set design & construction, stage crew, lighting, acting, reading, costuming), hospitality (serving refreshments, hosting, creating a beautiful, welcoming environment) and visual arts (publicity, screen programming).
